Throughout the entire article of I robot it seems obvious to me that the author, Jason Silverman, was not a big fan of the movie. It was not negativity wasn’t very harsh but it was still negative. He tried to show some of I robot’s flaws ever so delicately. But towards the middle it becomes apparent that the entire message of the book was lost in translation. This criticism travels all the way to the end of the article. He boldly states that the author of the book, Isaac Asimov, would have been very disappointed with the outcome of the film. The actual review was actually very disappointed from a readers’ standpoint. Silverman barely talks about the actually movie. He is focused more on the individual characters rather than the plot or climax of the movie, which is a good point to discuss even briefly. After looking at the questions Silverman was asking, I am starting to understand his point. But I also believe that he putting more thought into the movie than a regular consumer would. We rarely try to analyze movies on a Saturday night, which is not the point. The point is to entertain, and after watching the movie, I think it has achieved its main purpose.
