If I had to choose an advertisement that was truly stereotypical and shocking, I would choose the Latino ad. I chose this ad to prove how much we, the “Americans”, over analyze everything in our country. People are so wrapped around racism that instead of taking action to prevent it, we point fingers at each other and call each other racists. I, in no way, support racist people for the obvious fact. I also do not support the people who try and turn every small detail into a racial conflict. For example, if you see a photo of a white male in an ad, someone would say "Why didnt they pick a black man? How racist!". Unfortunately there are people like that its ridiculous. I heard a stereotypical comment that stated all Latino people are lazy, hence the picture of the man laying down wearing this sombrero. It shows how sad Americans in general are that we would waste such precious time on ridiculous stereotypes. Did America run out of important tasks that need to be accomplished that we have to turn everything into a racial conflict? I am not surprised that these things are happening around us daily. We might not always see this racism, but we know its there. It is ridiculous how much time was wasted writing such a meaningless article. It is completely obvious that racism and stereotyping exist in our world today. Writing an article about racial advertisements serves no beneficial purpose what so ever. What was the author trying to achieve from writing an article such as this?
